Founder Chairman & Managing Director of Cosmo Films Limited, Ashok Jaipuria is a visionary entrepreneur having over 40 years of experience in the corporate world. He ventured into the manufacturing business in the year 1981 with the establishment of the first Cosmo Films plant in Aurangabad and led the company to success.
Today, Cosmo Films is the largest exporter of BOPP films in India & the manufacturer of thermal lamination films in the world. Early Life
Mr. Jaipuria was born in 1953 in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. His father, Shri Sitaram Jaipuria, was an eminent industrialist & the head of Jaipuria Group of Industries; he firmly supported the Swadeshi movement through his corporate actions & later went on to serve the GOI by becoming a Member of Parliament. Following his father’s footsteps, Mr. Ashok Jaipuria turned out to be an all-rounder, bagging multiple awards as a student & excelling in sports as well. He has a strong religious & spiritual value system since childhood that showed in his inclination towards leaders like Swami Ram & Lal Bahadur Shastri.
Moving forward, he took the ropes early in life by starting as a Sales Executive in Swadeshi Cotton Mills. This became the foundation of his prosperous professional career ahead.
Professional Career
Mr. Jaipuria has been a part of many world-renowned MNCs & public organizations and played a substantial role in their growth. He has been an Executive Committee member of the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and a member of the BoG of IIT Patna and the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences.
Alongside heading Cosmo Films, he is serving as a member of the Board of Governors (BoG) of IIT Indore, and an independent Director on the Board of Hindustan Sanitaryware. As per shareholding data filed in September 2020, Mr. Ashok Jaipuria holds one share worth Rs. 711.2 Cr.

He ventured into BOPP manufacturing and established Cosmo Films in 1981 by laying the foundation of its first plant in Aurangabad. Eventually, he expanded the business which now has a presence in over 80 countries across the world with state-of-art manufacturing units in India, Korea, and the US.

Cosmo Foundation
In order to serve society, Mr. Jaipuria established the Cosmo Foundation as the philanthropic wing of Cosmo Films in 2008. His aim was to empower rural children & youth through education. These initiatives earned Cosmo Films the National award for Excellence in CSR & Sustainability, 2015. Mr. Ashok Jaipuria also won the Asia Pacific CSR Leadership & Asia Pacific Enterprise Leadership awards in 2012 and 2013.
